Who We Are
ENC Ambucs is the local chapter of the national charitable organization of Ambucs. Ambucs is a grassroots public charity with more than 5,500 Ambucs members dispersed throughout more than 150 chapters in over 30 states. With numerous chapters, each has the ability to provide for and unite kids and families in specific local areas. Our membership board consists of devoted individuals who are determined to create independence and opportunities for children with disabilities.

What We Do
Primarily, we provide AmTryke® adaptive tricycles to children who are limited in their abilities to ride a bicycle. ENC Ambucs fundraises to purchase AmTryke adaptive tricycles for children with disabilities across Eastern North Carolina in order to ensure all children in our area have the opportunity to ride a bicycle/tricycle! Local volunteers including physical and occupational therapists assess each child and their respective abilities to find the perfect AmTryke for each child.

What is an Amtryke?
The AmTryke therapeutic tricycle is an adaptive tricycle for children with disabilities. There is great variability in how the AmTryke can be built and modified for each user! The adjustable aspects of the AmTryke allow for its use in school settings for many kids as well as the option to keep the same tricycle even as children age or their abilities change.
The AmTryke helps to promote muscular strength, endurance, functional range of motion and development of motor skills for enhanced independence!
This adaptive tricycle is one of the most specialized, functional and user-friendly tricycles for children. The AmTryke tricycle provides kids the opportunity to engage in physical activity in a challenging but safe fashion!
